WHAT WE DO
During the economic downturn, Nevada was one of the hardest hit states in the nation and construction came to an abrupt halt, forcing thousands of construction workers to leave the state to seek employment elsewhere. Fast-forward 10 years, and Nevada is once again one of the fastest growing states in the country. Our economy has diversified to include manufacturing, high tech and distribution, as well as the various supporting industries each brings to the table. Construction workers are in high demand, and employers are competing with other sectors for skilled, trained workers.
IPSM launched a public awareness campaign on the rapid growth of the construction trades in Nevada following the Great Recession. Because we believe in authenticity as the key to content marketing, we leveraged our story-telling super powers to tell detailed stories about workforce development, and to promote Nevada Builders’ many programs, including the first and second annual Northern Nevada Construction Career Days, Army PaYs and Construction Gateway, a condensed, nine-week construction craft laborer program through Western Nevada College. IPSM is also working with the United Latino Community for Hispanic/Latinx outreach.
Through our efforts, Aaron West, CEO, and Nevada Builders Alliance were presented with awards for excellence in workforce development.
